Vigor

I've realised the other day the importance of things we may take for granted at times. I'm professional painter that’s my job. Thats just one part of the equation. Like finely tuned machines it takes a lot cogs for everything to function properly, so I realised the importance of exercising the other parts of my creative nature and how that aids in the actuall painting process. Like reading for instance rather it's spiritual or in my specialized field or what I just find interesting at the particular moment. I also have a studio prayer that I say, because positive energy is just that, positive energy. Journaling is also a  part of the the process. It’s funny because I used to purchase a couple sketchbooks a year that I would dedicate soley the filling it with sketches, but in my typical fashion they would always turn into journals with sparatic drawings here and there. Which would get under my skin, but I would always have some great  food for thought  and those ideas about life would occasionally spill over into the visual arena. Also, just thinking, because our brains are problably our most important muscle. I have to remember that exercising our thoughts are vital.
